Our brewers execute all aspects of beer production from initial milling to finished product packaging, including quality control. The role requires autonomy, and the ability to oversee our production line and brewhouse staff when our brewmaster and/or director of cellar and packaging are not present during a shift.

  • Perform clean- in-place (CIP) of brewery equipment, cleaning of mash filter, and cleaning of brewery and cellar areas.

  • Operate packaging and labeling lines.

  • Perform volume, temperature, gravity, and other production control measurements including necessary calculations, recording information promptly into our production software.

  • Communicate and respond to out-of-specification measurements at established points in the brewing and packaging process.

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderly function in all parts of the brewhouse, production process, and packaging line.

  • Taste beer prior to packaging.

  • Assist in the training of production floor colleagues including newly hired employees.

  • Work with and support brewmaster, director of brewing operations, and/or director of cellar & packaging on special projects as needed.

  • Participate in events, festivals, and other marketing activities, both on- and off-site.

Necessary Job Qualifications & Experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the beer brewing process, including an understanding of underlying scientific principles governing fermentation and the ability to perform blending and brewing calculations.

  • Prior experience in a production brewery setting.

  • Attention to detail, especially recording and analyzing quality control data, and experience working independently.

  • Great verbal and written communication skills and ability to multi-task as part of a small team, taking ownership of all duties necessary for successful production.

  • Experience with CIP, sanitizing principles, fermentation, bottling and canning lines, kegging equipment, and labeling machinery preferred.

  • Eagerness to learn and utilize our customized brewing production and accounting software, Orchestrated Beer (based on SAP Business One). Familiarity with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) programs preferred.

  • Desire for career advancement and greater seniority in production process over time.

  • Reasonable flexibility of work schedule including the ability to periodically work weekends, evenings, and holidays to meet scheduled production runs.

  • Ability to lift and move 55 pounds repeatedly.

  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as stoop, crawl, climb and work in tight or active/crowded spaces.

  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions.

  • Forklift and pallet jack proficiency preferred.

This a full-time, hourly position. We offer pay commensurate with experience for the right candidate, in the range of $22-$30 per hour. Full-time employees receive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, and two weeks paid time off. All employees are allocated beer allowances and company discounts.
